Dad, what's in the bag you have there?
is it champagne or just an old bare
foot you found on the street?

or if something to eat
be nice if it's good you could share

(can limericks have couplets?)

Sham pain's what an amputee feels.
His toe still is throbbin'; it's real.
But it isn't there;
was blown up somewhere
in Baghdad... and still his brain reels.

No mind altering drugs on the train
it full of people who choose to refrain;
we’d rather not touch
marijuana and  such
but wouldn’t say no to the champagne!

we're talking of pigs and pot here
not thinking that this is Pig's year
be careful that you
say oink oink not a moo
in reverence 'cause piggies might hear.

I'm sure that you're not all alone,
'cause this sheltered guy ain't had none.
But hundreds have shared
with me; they've not spared
the details... an' they ain't yet done.

I'm prob'ly the only one here,
And I'm sure you'll find it quite queer
Never took one puff
Of that funny stuff
I'm crazy 'nuf with my mind clear.

I think our ol' Norm's gettin' high!
A cowish blonde pig in the sky?!
Does he really need
the smoke from that weed
with laced PCP? ~ brain-cell-shy!

This cow was disguised as a pig
Right down to the tail and the wig
After taking steroids,
jumped over asteroids
This oink-moo was utterly BIG!

ho ho ho --- "utterly" ---get it! ho ho ho

UGH...

I once knew a four-legged cow
who couldn’t moo but would meow
he had four legs
but tried to lay eggs
we called him confused of Macau

I think Norm has sparked a 'cow' thread *smile*

Quote:
"Unfair Advantage of the 3-Legged Cow"
    A short ballad in a 5-line limerick

In the field with a donut, he's sipping,
Saw a three-legged cow while sipping
from his old tin cup:
"Hey now I have a leg up...
Time for some good old cow-tipping."

Note: I think the "game" is very cruel -- but the image of a sleeping three-legged cow just brought this out!

A three-legged cow, who would bilk?
Naa... Norm wouldn't hang with that ilk.
I'd stuff that tin cup
way up in 'is schlupp
fer field-'xpedient chocolate milk.

How tall is a cow o' three legs?
the baker the ol' butcher begs.
Well anyone knows:
three feet... 'less she grows
an extra, or hens don' lay eggs!

I do like to write in free verse
but I never feel I've done worse
if the lines come out even;
you won't find me grievin'
or thinkin' that I've been perverse! Undecided

A lim'rick's jest lettin' it flow
wherever the words seem to go;
so long as ya dance
I ain't gonna glance
at you to bring evil-eye woe. Angry
